EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT AT EAGLE SLOUGH NATURAL AREA

Over Memorial Day weekend, Cody Weidner supervised his family, friends and fellow Boy Scouts in the construction of an "outdoor classroom" for the Eagle Slough Natural Area. Cody is an Eagle Scout candidate from Troop 373 in Evansville, IN.

The classroom consists of a teaching platform with nine benches arranged in a semi-circle. The design resembles a similar project at Howell  Wetlands. Cody raised all the money for the project, drew the design, and purchased the materials. Cody: "WELL DONE!"

The Vanderburgh County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors, Staff and the Eagle Slough Natural Area Steering Committee are proud of Cody and want to thank him for a great addition to Eagle Slough. This will enable our plan for students to use Eagle Slough Natural Area for an outdoor classroom.
