Native Plantings Installation
Cost Sharing
All property owners within Vanderburgh County are eligible for the Backyard Conservation Program.
All applicants must sign a Participant Agreement between Vanderburgh County Soil Water Conservation District (SWCD) and the Property Owner to be considered for cost-sharing or rebate. The Agreements are available on line at www.vandswcd.org or at 12445 Highway 41 North, Evansville, IN 47725.
The SWCD must approve all Native Plantings sites prior to installation participating in the Backyard Conservation Program.
All Participants owners are required to present their proposed plant list for approval prior to Native Plantings installations. All plants, shrubs, or trees must be native to Indiana.
All Native Plantings must be maintained for a minimum of three years or as long as the property owner owns the Native Plantings area.
Only one Native Plantings funding project is allowed per property owner in Vanderburgh County in the Backyard Conservation Cost-Sharing Program.
The SWCD will pay 50% of the cost of materials up to a maximum of $1000 for Native Planting projects.
The property owner must agree to allow SWCD to photograph and publicize the Native Plantings project for conservation education and promotion.
